Welcome to our new 4D Team Members Part 2

Welcome to our new 4D Team Members Part 2

We are excited to introduce you to two more new members who have joined our 4D team in the last few weeks. Susan is our new Content Marketing Specialist, and Mike is working on the sales team concentrating on professional services. Read more about them below:

Susan:Clear communication is my passion. Translating complex concepts into language anyone can understand is my calling. And I’m excited to bring that passion and my skills to the 4D team as a Content Marketing Specialist.

I moved to the Asheville area to attend the University of North Carolina–Asheville, where I earned my bachelor’s in atmospheric science and launched a few weather balloons. While I kicked off my career preserving historical weather records, I later transitioned to editing scientific publications, discovered my love of the communications world, and went on to earn my master’s from Johns Hopkins University. Since then, I’ve been utilizing my skills to manage digital communications and enhance public relations in the Federal government and nonprofit sectors.

I currently live in Black Mountain, NC, with my partner, our German Shepherd, and two cats. When I’m not busy “tending the zoo,” you’ll likely find me engrossed in a book, trying my hand at a crafting project, or baking cupcakes.”

A fun fact about Susan: Her birthday is on Halloween and she was delivered by a vampire! Seriously, . Spooky!

Mike:I am a father of 5, with 4 daughters and one son. I enjoy reading and listening to soft calming music such as jazz instrumentals, nature, and ambient. I aspire to travel more. I love electronics and technology – even more when there is luxury vehicle attached to it.

I have a background in sales leadership, personal training, and gym ownership. I also owned and operated an insurance agency. I am passionate about working with business owners to help them grow revenue, and I enjoy meeting new people to build new networks and alliances.

My favorite sports player is Lebron James (fun fact: I am from the same neighborhood and watched him grow up as a kid), and my favorite sports team is Ohio State Football.”

Welcome to the team Susan and Mike!

Hopefully your first few weeks have been off to a great start, and you are settling in nicely. We are all looking forward to getting to know you both more.  In true Dave M. style, I think we should close this out with a quote. “Coming together is the beginning. Staying together is the development and working together is the key to success.” – Henry Ford

Group Health Plan Update

First, I’d like to thank all of you for your cooperation in completing the enrollment forms!

We have submitted all necessary documents to Anthem for review. As soon as we receive a determination on participation rate, we will post another update.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

I hope everybody enjoys their first Summer Friday.

Welcome to our new 4D Team Members Part 2

Say hello to our new 4D team members!

It’s an exciting time at 4D! As a result, I’m sure you noticed that our team is growing. So, we wanted to make sure that everybody had a chance to get to know our new team members.

First up, we have Sean Kearns and Nicholas Brown!

Below is a little something they each had to say about themselves.

Sean:I moved here from Miami, FL approximately 4 years ago after a thru-hike attempt of the AT. I’m father of 2 – I have a 15-year-old daughter, Abby, and 13-year-old son, Sean. I also have 2 pups, Conor, a Jack Russell/Cairn mix, and Luna, a Lhasa/Havanese mix. I am an avid outdoorsman and I frequently hike and backpack and love to surf when I’m near the water. I’m also a HUGE gear nerd. I’m a craft beer enthusiast/nerd/geek/snob (have been for the last 20 or so years) and prior to joining CADLearning, I’ve been in the industry the last 4 years managing bottle shops and taprooms. I love to draw and illustrate, mainly character design. I also love to read.

Nick:Before CADLearning, Nick was a writer and editor for print and multimedia publications. He is passionate about clear communication and about helping others learn and grow. In his spare time, Nick likes to read about current events and technology, explore new places, and spend time with friends and family. He is a proud dog parent to Nana, 13, and Teddy, 11.”

Welcome to the 4D Team Nick and Sean! I think it’s safe to say we now collectively have more 4 legged friends on this team than we do humans! And we’re okay with that.

We are all looking forward to getting to know you both better and chatting about all things gear, animals, and technology.

Insurance Forms are Due!

Insurance Forms are Due!

Don’t forget – Insurance forms are due TODAY!

Today is the deadline for submitting your insurance forms to Dawn. The coverage would start as early as July 1st, which is why we need to get these forms to her ASAP.

Submitting the form today is required of all full time 4D employees, whether you are electing to take the insurance or not.

As a reminder, 4D is contributing 50% towards our monthly total rates (see chart in Dawn’s email for your total cost), and the plans are very gracious as far as coverage goes. Dawn is happy to help if anyone has questions.

Here is what we’ve been up to!

Here is what we’ve been up to!

Dev Team, Content Releases, Customer Success/Marketing Updates

Content Team Updates:

Chris has been rolling out updates pretty frequently over the last few weeks, with his latest coming in before I could even get this blog post out! Either I am writing too slow, or our content team is just that good. We all know it’s the latter. Read a little about the updates from the content team below:

“Robot Structural Analysis is published and live in Portal! This is a new product for our library. Robot Structural Analysis is structural load analysis software that verifies code compliance and uses BIM-integrated workflows to exchange data with Revit. It can help create more resilient, constructible designs that are accurate, coordinated, and connected to BIM.

We have also added new product years for Vehicle Tracking. Upon SME review, no major changes in the software were noted; so, with just a couple tweaks to a few lessons we feel confident in applying 2019, 2020, and 2021 years to the product.”

Chris also added:

While this update is short in length, having RSA published is a BIG deal! Thanks to everyone on the team for making the best content in the business! Have a great weekend everyone!”

Support Team Update:

Great job to the support team for getting us up and running in Monday.com with support tickets. Nick said this about getting our support requests in:

We now track support tickets and projects in Monday. Everyone should use this link for support requests.”

Dev Team Updates:

Sounds like some big things are also happening on the development team! Jamie and the team have been heads down cranking out a huge amount of code on Staccato. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Customer Success/Marketing Updates:

Our customer success and marketing teams have been staying busy. From training new team members to meeting with customers and partners to working on our messaging plan, there are a lot of exciting things in the works.

Everyone has been working hard and it shows. Hopefully, the thought of half-day Fridays is keeping everyone motivated. I see many afternoons by the pool in our future!

Happy Friday everyone!

I have lots of good news to carry us into the weekend.

It can help create more resilient, constructible designs that are accurate, coordinated, and connected to BIM.

How about those employee perks?

How about those employee perks?

Showcase the benefits of the new

employee perks and discount card.

Over the last few weeks, we have been receiving emails from Dawn about some new employee perks. I won’t lie—I’ve been anxiously opening my email every day to see the next perk roll out!

The most recent perk we received is access to a discount network called Access Perks, with hundreds of dollars in savings at top restaurants, hotels, and so many other businesses! Who is ready to take a trip? I am particularly looking forward to the BIG hotel savings, myself. But, like I said, there are hundreds of offers to choose from. I saw a savings of over $200 on Apple products (Looking at you, Luis!). That’s HUGE. And let’s be real, where we spend our money matters! It was a tough year for so many businesses, and it makes a big difference when we spend some of that money on places we know and love.

Make sure to download the app as well. It picks up your location and pulls all the deals closest to you, making it super easy to find places fast when you’re on the go.

One of the best parts of these employee rollouts is the feeling it gives you. Everyone wants to feel rewarded for their hard work, and everyone likes the feeling of saving money. It’s the little things that add up to make a happy work environment and satisfied employees.

Great job 4D Technologies, and great job Dawn!

I might be new, but I know a good thing when I see it!

Publishing Update 4/14/21

Publishing Update 4/14/21

I’m pleased to announce that the 2nd and 3rd topics of Navisworks, a total of 46 lessons, have been published and are live on Portal. These two topics are Reviewing Your Model and Using Viewpoints and Section Modes.  As David is working through the product, existing lessons are being updated and additional lessons are being added to better cover the features of the program.

A big thanks David, Andrea, and the rest of the Content Team on their efforts to continue this rolling update for Navisworks.

As always, a list of the lessons with their Portal links can be found here Calendar 2021 published lessons.xlsx

Staccato Messaging Dos and Don’ts

Staccato Messaging Dos and Don’ts

I hope that everybody is as excited to watch Staccato develop as I am!

But, just so that we are all absolutely 100% on the same page about what we can and cannot say, I wanted to reiterate the approved strategic talking points that Dave mentioned in our company meeting.

It is extremely important that we message this appropriately from the start. If you are ever in doubt, please ask for guidance, rather than assuming. This isn’t just about good marketing practices. There are patent repercussions and other implications as well.

Now that we’ve covered the fine print, onto the fun stuff!

Value Props by audience

General Audience

Staccato prioritizes the how over the what or the why. It is not just about learning; it is also about doing. How do I replace the brake pads in my 2012 Honda Fit Go-Kart? How do I build a deck? How do I calculate the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Authors

The best value prop of all – buckets of cash. We provide the most options and the easiest process of any platform on the market.

Users

You pick what you want to do, and we will backfill the rest. Change paths along the way? Easy peasy. We find just what you need to get from here to there in the shortest possible time.

Employers

Pick some competencies, build a job. Build the job, find the perfect people to fill it.

What it’s not

Staccato is not a continuation of CADLearning. It is not the next iteration. Customers and partners should not be waiting for it. It’s not for them. Just keep selling CADLearning and pretend that Staccato doesn’t exist.

Thank you for your continued diligence. We will have more information soon!
